Refund & Cancellation Policy

At The Perfect Bookshelf, every shelf we create is made-to-order, built specifically for your space, style, and needs. Because of this level of customization, most purchases are final sale. However, if something doesn’t go as expected, we’ll do everything we can to make it right.

 

Custom Orders: What You Need to Know

Our products are not mass-produced. Each bookshelf is handcrafted to your exact specifications—size, finish, and configuration—making it non-returnable.

We strongly encourage customers to double-check their:

·       Measurements

·       Material selections

·       Finish options

Order Changes & Cancellations

We get it—plans change. That’s why we offer a limited window for modifications or cancellations:

·       Within 24 Hours of Purchase: You may cancel or change your order free-of-charge.

·       After 24 Hours: Production has likely begun. Changes may still be possible but are subject to a 15% fee to cover material and labor costs.

·       After 3 Business Days: Your order is too far into production. At this point, changes or cancellations are no longer possible.

Returns: What’s Eligible & What’s Not

Because each Perfect Bookshelf is custom-crafted to your exact specifications, we do not accept returns or exchanges. Every piece is made to order and uniquely tailored to your space, style, and needs—making it truly one-of-a-kind.

Please note:

• Custom-made products (including all shelves, U-boxes, and modular elements) are final sale.

• Returns or refunds are only accepted if your item arrives with a manufacturing defect.

If your item has a defect in materials or craftsmanship, we will repair or replace it at no additional cost to you, in accordance with our Warranty Policy.
 

Refunds & Processing

If your return is approved:

·       Refunds are processed within 1–2 business days after receiving the returned item.

·       Depending on your payment provider, funds may take 2–7 business days to appear in your account.

 

Lead Times & Shipping

Our standard lead time for custom shelf systems is 21 business days from order confirmation to shipment. Shipping time depends on your location.

Expedited production is available for an additional 40% rush fee (availability may vary—contact us for details).

Please note: Expedited shipping does not shorten production time. It only accelerates delivery after the item has shipped.

 

Legal Compliance & Refund Law

This policy complies with U.S. refund law requirements:

·       California (Civ. Code § 1723): Custom furniture is exempt from mandatory refunds unless defective or misrepresented.

·       Connecticut (Gen. Stat. § 42-110aa): Custom orders are exempt unless goods are defective or not as described.

·       Other States: Generally consistent; custom items are not subject to refund unless flawed or falsely advertised.
