Can I customize my bookshelf?
Yes — every Perfect BookShelf is made-to-order and can be built to your exact width, height, and depth. You can design it yourself in the online configurator, or get expert help in a free design consultation. Prefer to buy off-the-shelf? The Foundation collection is ready-to-order in set configurations.
What sizes does it come in?
Two ways to get your size. The Foundation collection is ready-to-order in set configurations if you want to buy off-the-shelf. For everything else, there are no standard sizes — every shelf is made-to-measure to your exact width, height, and depth. Both are built from PEFC-certified poplar plywood with solid hardwood detailing, in Maple, Maple & Black, White Oak, White Oak & Black, White Oak & white or Walnut.
Can I add more shelves later?
Yes — you can buy extra U-Models, and boards any time. If you're adding to an existing shelf, contact us first so we can confirm compatibility.
ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
Do I need tools to assemble it?
No — assembly is tool-free. There are no nails, screws, or glue; the pieces fit together following our guide. The exception: for a larger configuration (over 7 feet tall) or a wall-mounted setup, you'll need tools to anchor it or install brackets (not included), which keeps it secure — especially in homes with kids or pets, or in a seismic area.
Can I mount it to the wall?
Yes, our shelves can be mounted to the wall — but we do not provide screws, anchors, or brackets. If you plan to mount a shelf, make sure to use appropriate hardware for your wall type and always anchor into something solid.
🔒 Safety tip: Mounting is especially recommended if you have kids or pets at home, or if the shelf is tall. When in doubt, consult a professional to ensure secure installation.
Can I move or remove levels?
Totally. Add, remove, reconfigure—your shelf grows with you.
Do you offer assembly services?
Yes — while The Perfect Bookshelf is designed to be assembled easily and without tools, we know that sometimes a little help makes all the difference.

- Free design consultation — a specialist helps you plan and configure, ideal for tricky spaces like sloped ceilings, under-stair nooks, or odd-width alcoves. All three are made-to-order and built from the same materials.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on the configuration — size, finish, and layout — and you see the exact price instantly in the configurator before you order. The Foundation collection is priced per its set configurations.
What payment options do you offer?
All major credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. For installments, you can choose Klarna or Shop Pay at checkout.
DELIVERY & RETURNS
How long until my bookshelf arrives?
Because each shelf is made-to-order, it's built and delivered in about 21 business days.
Do you ship nationwide, and how does it ship?
Yes — we ship nationwide across the U.S. Your bookshelf arrives flat-packed in two boxes: the U-Models and the shelf boards.
How heavy are the packages?
- U-Modules: 8–45 lbs
- Boards: 4–40 lbs
What is your return policy?
Because every Perfect BookShelf is made-to-order — including the Foundation collection — we generally don't accept returns. If something arrives damaged or defective, we'll fix it; just email info@perfectbookshelf.comwith photos for a damage claim.
How do I request a refund or file a claim?
